Wine Region : Champagne - France Grape : Pinot Noir Tasting notes : A 100% Pinot Noir cuvée with no dosage. It contains only the wine's natural residual sugar at less than 2g per bottle. Moreover, the use of an absolute minimum of sukphur gives the wine the freedom to express itself totally. On the nose there is crisp and at the same time ripe fruit. On the palate it is upright an pure, with abundant finesse and freshness. About the winery : Although the vines in Urville were originally planted by the Romans 2000 years ago, it was Saint Bernard, founder of Clairvaux Abbey, who had the cellars of Drappier built in 1152. DRAPPIER Brut Nature Zero Dosage  - NV

Wine Region : Champagne - France Grape : Chardonnay, Blanc Vrai Tasting notes : The nose suggests juicy white peach and fresh pear with some added floral notes such as jasmine. The sensationis very mineral-driven, with pleasant biscuit and cream showing a supple and seductive finish. DRAPPIER Blanc de Blancs  - NV

Wine Region : Champagne - France Grape : Chardonnay, Pinot Noir Tasting notes : This champagne presents itself in a ravishing pale yellow robe with topaz nuances. Time has used its patina to reveal the wine's complexity. Hawthorn blends with acacia honey, beeswax and marzipan. When it is aerated, the wine resumes its murings, quince jelly meets raspberry jam and alternates with bergamot and warm brioche. On the palate it's invigorating, imposing and it teases the taste buds. The bead caresses and balances wild strawberry jam with ripe blood orange. This harmony is extended in a delicate minerality and a lovely bitterness in which hints of mandarin orange come through. DRAPPIER Quattuor Blanc de Blancs - NV

Wine Region : Champagne - France Grape : Pinot Noir Tasting Notes : It offers a rich gold colour, typical of low yielding pinot noir and on the palate is vinous with a zesty, mineral vitality. About the winery : Located in the Côte des Bar, Bertrand's estate is named after two of his lieu-dits: Vouette & Sorbée. Unlike the vineyards in the north of Champagne with their fine chalky soils, the Côte des Bar is more like Chablis - dense, rocky, Kimmerdidgian and Portlandian limestone clay soils. Historically Pinot Noir was the dominant variety in this region but Bertrand has been slowly expanding his plantings of Chardonnay.He farms about 5 hectares of vines divided among 6 lieux-dits with five of them located near his hometown of Buxières and one in the neighboring village of Ville-sur-Acre. If asked, Bertrand will say that he is a farmer first and foremost and in addition to vines he raises chickens and cattle and operates a nearly self-sustaining enclosed ecosystem.

Wine Region: Champagne - France Grape: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay Tasting Notes: In appearance it's red, purple, dense, clear with deep purple glints. The nose is pure indulgence with vanilla, brioche, warm bread, praline... but also lemon, zest and candied. On the palate, it is fresh and refined with lemon, bergamot, citrus zest and toast balance with beautiful tension. The finish is long, with chocolate notes. Wine region : Champagne - France Grape : Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier Tasting note : In the glass, "Invitation" shows a bright straw-yellow core with the glinting platinum hues at the rim. The nose is delicate, almost reticent at first, but notes are soon coaxed out with a bit of air. You'll pick up aromas of white cherry, red apple skin, plum, toast and brioche, candied Meyer lemon, fresh cream, and citrus zest alongside steely mineral-driven notes of crushed stone and chalk. The palate is medium-bodied, but the fruit delivers a ripe mouthfeel with a perfectly balanced dose of sweetness. Rich and creamy on the palate, with tons of resonance, the Cuvée Ste.-Anne is absolutely impeccable. Dried orchard fruit, spice, pastry, baked apple tart and lemon confit all infuse the Cuvée Ste.-Anne with striking complexity and depth. I can’t think of too many Champagnes that deliver this level of quality for the money. Not surprisingly, I have seen it offered by the glass in a number of top restaurants around the world. Alexandre Chartogne does a fabulous job with this cuvée. Don’t miss it. – Antonio Galloni

CHARTOGNE-TAILLET, cuvee Sainte Anne Brut

Wine Region: Champagne - France Grape: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay Tasting notes: The Shaman 17 Cuvee is based on a blend of several years, and the majority year is indicated in the name of the Cuvee. Therefore, the 2017 vintage is mainly represented in this edition. Its nose evokes citrus fruits, but also minerality. On the palate, Shaman 17 is full, fresh and delicious. The finish is persistent and salivating. Wine Region : Champagne - France Grape : Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier Tasting notes : This cuvée has a powerful aromatic complexity with minty, floral and orchard fruit elements, while the fresh, generous yet silky texture is supported by fresh, well-judged acidity. Intelligent, supple and full of energy. About the winery :The Maison has had the name of its founder since 1978. The Jacquesson Champagne was Napoleon's favourite and in 1810 the Emperor gave the maison one of the most significant acknowledgement of that time, a gold metal for the beauty and richness of the caves. Today the Maison Jacquesson & Fils is proud to follow the path traced by its glorious founders and concentrates its efforts in an annual production of 350,000 bottles, with non-industrial methods, obtaining the higher quality sandards ever. Grapes come mainly from owned vineyards (28hectares), 11 which are located in Côte de Blancs, in Avize. A rigorous vinification, followed by an excellent aging, lead to Vintage Cuvées, sold not according to their chronological order but their maturity. A low dosage preserves the fineness and pureness of the wine.

JACQUESSON Cuvee 742  - NV

Wine Region :Champagne - France Grape: Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay Tasting notes : Deep and intense, this cuvée is aged in perpetual reserve (solera) which started in 1998. The wine tells the story of the family estate. Every year they bottle one third of our reserve wine (some aged in wooden barrels and some in stainless steel) to make Trio S. This volume is replaced by wine from the latest harvest. The young wine brings energy and freshness whilst the older wines bring a sens of the past. The bottling and disgorgement dates are printed on the black label. About the winery: With holdings of old vines in some of the greatest terroirs in the Cote des Blancs, Pascal Doquet has emerged over the last decade as one of the premier vignerons in Champagne. After he took over his family estate, Doquet-Jeanmaire, in 1995 when his father retired, Pascal established his eponymous Domaine in 2004. Today he farms just under 9 hectares of vines including prime parcels in Vertus, Le Mont Aime, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. About the winery : Ranging from the Puyricard plateau to the summit of the Trévaresse massif, between 350 and 450 meters above sea level, the vineyard of Château du Seuil enjoys a lot of sunshine, a diversified terroir particularly favorable to the culture of grapevine: stony and dry stony clay soils with diverse exposures; a hot and dry climate in summer but cool at night; the permanent and beneficial breath of the mistral that reduces the risk of illness; an altitude that limits the alcoholic degree of the wines and gives them a great freshness, especially for whites and rosés. Entirely registered in the appellation area of Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, it includes the main varieties of the appellation: Grenache Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Rolle. Created patiently over the past 40 years, the Château du Seuil vineyard has 35% of old vines. Wine Region: Burgundy - France Grape: Chardonnay Tasting notes: A lively wine, light yellow in the glass with delicious scents of citrus fruits, limestone and sea minerals. The taste is fresh and elegant. About the winery: Small family farm of 10 hectares, the estate's vines are located on the stony hills on either side of the river, in the town of Chichée. The culture is sustainable, mastered by a minimum input of fertilizer, no weedkillers, ploughing only. After Christiane and Jean-Claude retirement, their daughters, Nathalie and Isabelle, took the estate over.

Yann has a deep understanding and love for this land, having followed in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, grandfather and father to make wine here. Rather lively when young, this well fruited wine quite rapidly acquires a smoothness which evolves into worthy body, length and lusciousness. About the winery: The Domaine Arnoux estate is comprised of 20ha of vineyards in the villages of Beaune, Chorey, Savigny, Pernand-Vergelesse, Aloxe-Corton and Corton Grand Cru, producing approximatively 8,000 cases a year. Committed to the land and vines, Pascal tirelessly works the soil multiple times a year. Each fall, winter and spring, tilling is performed for aeration and in May, the base of each vine is hoed by hand to remove the superficial roots. In the winery, Pascal favors freshness over big structure. With his father as a cooper, Pascal became an expert in barrel selection, though there is very little new oak in the cellar. As a result, the wines reflect the delicate and floral aromas of their terroir, with only subtle influences from oak.

Domaine LAFOUGE Auxey-Duresses "Les Boutonniers" 2018

About the winery : The Leflaives can trace their Burgundian history back to Claude Leflaive who made his home in Place du Monument in Puligny Montrachet in 1717. Since then the family has always owned vines in Burgundy. Olivier Leflaive's philosophy involves producing great wines, with the utmost simplicity. However, a great wine is the fruit of work, from the wine to the cellar. It is there force indispensable to maintain long lasting relationships with rigorous selected winegrowers. This expertise and their experience in bying grapes allow them to have total mastery over vinification and wine maturation. As such each cuvee benefits from an individual approach, keeping the spirit of the estate and ensuring the authenticity of each terroir is fully respected. The aromas of white flowers, peach, grilled almond and lemon peel dominate on a mineral background. The attack is full and warm on the palate with a lively and greedy finish.

OLIVIER LEFLAIVE Saint-Romain "Sous-le-Château" - 2015

Wine Region : Burgundy - France Grape : Chardonnay Tasting notes : Light gold color with green highlights. Frank nose with aromas of flowers (honeysuckle, violet), white flesh fruits (pear, peach) and citrus fruit, with hints of sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla). Well balanced mouth and tonic. About the winery : The long established Domaine Rapet (it makes much of a family tastevin dating back to 1765) covers 18 hectares in all, with grands crus Corton-Charlemagne, Corton and Corton Pougets, premiers crus Le Clos du Village, Sous Frétille and En Caradeux in white, along with red Les Vergelesses, Ile de Vergelesses and three from Beaune - Clos du Roi, Bressandes and Grèves. With Vincent, son of Roland, at the helm and a new cuverie to work in, quality is high at the moment. They are fortunate to own over two hectares of their flagship appellation, Corton-Charlemagne.

Domaine RAPET Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Champs Pimont"  - 2016

Wine Region: Burgundy, France Grape: Chardonnay Tasting notes: The nose is fruity with aromas of green apple, citrus and note of vanilla. This cuvée is mineral, fresh with great acidity. About the winery: Joseph Colin is one of the four children of Marc Colin (the others being Pierre-Yves, Damien and Caroline), who had a large domaine with vines in Saint Aubin, Santenay, Chassagne and Puligny in Burgundy. Pierre-Yves left the family domaine in 2005 and since then Joseph was an important member of the team there. After making a token 1800 or so bottles on his own account in 2016, he started in earnest with 2017, with seven hectares of vines, from which he makes an astonishing nineteen different cuvées. Most of the vines he has in Saint Aubin are young, but by limiting bunches to six or seven per vine, he manages to control the yields. With plenty of time to learn his craft at Domaine Marc Colin, he has developed into a confident winemaker. Joseph is a very bright new prospect for lovers of precise, pure white Burgundies with fresh acidity for crystalline definition.

The attack is fresh, beautiful elegance in the mouth on a rich substance supported by a beautiful freshness, the finish is mineral and persistent. About the winery: Domaine Francois Carillon is a Burgundy wine estate based in Puligny-Montrachet, focusing on wines made from Chardonnay. It was formed in 2010 when Francois and his brother Jacques decided to divide their father's estate, Domaine Louis Carillon, which had been regarded as one of the very finest in the village. The Carillon family's history in winegrowing in the area can be traced back to at least 1700. The estate consists of around 6.5 hectares (16 acres) of vineyards, around three-quarters of which are in Puligny-Montrachet. This includes parcels in four Premier Cru vineyards, including in Les Champs Gains and Les Folatieres, as well as a few precious rows of Chevalier Montrachet. Wine Region: Burgundy - France Grape: Chardonnay Tasting notes: "The 2018 Meursault Les Meix Chavaux exhibits a pretty bouquet of green orchard fruit, fresh apricot, Meyer lemon and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, generous but nicely incisive palate. For them, working the vines with respect for the terroir is essential, as is a style of wine combining finesse and elegance. The harvest has always been manual.

Wine Region: Burgundy - France Grape: Chardonnay Tasting notes: The rich, powerful and concentrated flavors possess excellent size and weight along with ample muscle on the bold and intense finish. About the winery: Domaine Philippe COLIN was born in 2004. It now exploits 11.5 ha of vines around the village of Chassagne Montrachet. The annual production reaches today 90000 bottles. The white wines and the red wines are declined in 28 different appellations. some of which represent very small vintages, allowing you to discover all the diversity and richness of the terroirs. Soil work and reasoned phytosanitary control are the main priorities. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months and are bottled after light filtration.

DOMAINE PHILIPPE COLIN Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Chaumees" 2017

Wine Region: Burgundy Grape: Chardonnay Tasting notes: The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie delivers a pretty bouquet of pear, waxy citrus rind and almond paste. Medium to full-bodied, its satiny attack segues into a nicely concentrated core that's underpinned by lively acids, concluding with a precise finish. About the estate: Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is one of the finest and most important producers in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. The domaine has its origin in the fine Gagnard-Delagrange holdings of forty-five years ago, as the vineyards hail from the marriage of Richard Fontaine to Jacques Gagnard’s oldest daughter, Laurence Gagnard, in 1982. Richard Fontaine is a meticulous vigneron. His vineyard regimen is based on the principles of lutte raisonnée. Now with the help of his daughter Céline, he looks after 20 acres, including parcels in three Grand Cru vineyards and an impressive array of Chassagne’s finest 1er Cru parcels. Richard and Céline never use more than one-third new oak and no wine is aged over a year in wood. This translates to purity and precision in each of Fontaine-Gagnard's wines. The domaine releases an average of 3,000 cases of wines each year, a small production by any measure, yet each handcrafted bottle is signatured with personal pride towards authenticity and uncompromising quality.
